As Dusk Falls is an interactive cliffhanger and an entertaining game. It reignited my passion for streaming. It’s a great addition to streaming as it involves the chat. I sometimes forget to pay attention to the chat, but As Dusk Falls changes that. The chat can participate in decision-making, altering the game’s outcome. It adds a new level of interactivity.
I really enjoyed the story of the game. It had me hooked from the beginning. I wanted to see how all of these strangers’ lives were going to be woven together and INTERIOR/NIGHT studios did an amazing job. They made sure to weave a tale so thought out that it kept me and my community engaged the entire time that I played the game.
Forgiveness and Moving Forward
Zoe’s story in As Dusk Falls resonated with me due to my traumatic experiences. The choices the studio gave her regarding Jay struck a chord. The game mirrors real-life choices people face to move forward after trauma. Forgiveness is a tough decision to make, sometimes forced on people not ready to do so. Many don’t believe a person is worthy of forgiveness. The fact that the game presented forgiveness as a choice for Zoe meant a lot. It’s a powerful message that encourages players to think about the difficult decision to forgive. I appreciate how As Dusk Falls portrays the complexities of life and the tough decisions we have to make.

I wasn’t expecting that ending. It truly left me and my community with our mouths agape for a good 5 minutes after the story was over trying to figure out if there was going to be a part two or at least some DLC coming soon. We have a giant-sized ache in our hearts and have no idea what we are going to fill it with.
The art style in the game was extremely beautiful and the palette was definitely fitting for the decades in which the story took place. I love how so many of the scenes could be snatched right out of dramas that I watched in my youth all the way into my current adult years, which helped keep the story entertaining.
The main story according to Xbox takes 6 hours to complete but if you’re a completionist it takes a total of about 12 hours. I have played for a total of 10 and a half hours and I only have 52% of the achievements completed. I do plan on finishing in completionist mode but a lot of the achievements are secret achievements. This will require me to use a guide a take time to complete each individual guide.
Community Engagement
I did really enjoy this game because of the level of community engagement that it provided for my stream. It was engaging, beautiful, and told an excellent story that kept us on the edge of our seats. While I wish it didn’t end in a cliffhanger it didn’t take anything away from how the game made me feel. The ending gave me something to look forward to. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the characters of As Dusk Falls.
I know you’ve been following me and noticed that this isn’t a game from my Backlog list. You can read about it here, but I am still working on it and I am 62% done with Spiritfarer, you can read about why I chose that one here.
