In case you caught the State of Play event this week, you may have observed that Rocksteady showcased one of their titles as the finale. The presentation featured an updated trailer and gameplay footage of their upcoming game set in the Arkham universe, a few years after the events of Batman Arkham Knight. With this in mind, let’s delve into Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, which is distinct from Gotham Knights and does not include Batman as a playable character. Notably, Kevin Conroy, who voiced Batman in previous Arkham titles, retired from the role and passed away last year.
This new Rocksteady game offers both a single-player experience and multiplayer gameplay, similar to Gotham Knights. Unlike Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers, which only included single-player campaign mode, this game caters to both modes. After years in development, Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League presents a third-person shooter gameplay style that deviates from the previous Arkham titles. Although we have some information from the FAQ, we also know that there’s something that may not sit well with the fans.
Why Suicide Squad May Cause Problems
No matter how you play the game, either single player or co-op, you need an online connection. We saw this with Gran Turismo 7. More specifically the career mode and when the servers went down for a period of time the game couldn’t be played. Consequently if the Rocksteady servers die, history will repeat here. This is what the FAQ says
IS AN INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED TO PLAY SUICIDE SQUAD: KILL THE JUSTICE LEAGUE?
Yes, an internet connection is required to play Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League solo or via online co-op
So there you have it. It’s another game which needs online connection to play even solo.
