After seeing some more of the upcoming return to Gran Turismo from Polyphony Digital, more news came to light. The Gran Turismo 7 career mode has caught the eye. And not just for the impressive weather details.
What’s happening in the career mode for Gran Turismo 7?
Well, if we take a look at the PlayStation Blog post by Kazunori Yamauchi. He is the studio’s president and the person responsible for Gran Turismo. It’s not just the information given but the subtle way it was posted.
Fans have been requesting the career mode for some time now and we found it is back via the recent PlayStation Blog release.
We’re aware that long-time fans of the Gran Turismo series strongly desired the return of the GT Campaign mode
At the end of that sentence, there is an asterisk. Also, when we scroll to the very bottom of the blog we find this. “These features require internet connection”
Fans on social media are pretty angry that the single-player requires an online connection. Some are refusing to buy the game until this is changed. It may seem a small thing for many, but for a lot of people a constant connection can be tricky and not everyone actually has Internet access. An example could be you’re traveling or you move to a new home and set the PlayStation up to play. If there is not an internet connection, you can’t play.
Yamauchi sadly wouldn’t explain anything over this being needed. GT fans are far from happy and would like to know the reason for needing a constant online connection to a single-player component. What do you think of this? Would it put you off a purchase? As always, please let us know your thoughts.
