The Rest Of 2024

For this selection, I have suggested games coming with a release date or window this year. However, all game release dates are subject to change even if it’s available to preorder. Though at the time of writing all the release information given was correct.

Silent Hill 2

So the original game needs no introduction to fans of survival horror. This is the remake done by Bloober Team. They gave us the recent Layers of Fear as well The Medium among others. We return to the town of Silent Hill on 8th October this year. The deluxe edition though allows for 48 hours early access.

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure

Recently revealed at the Xbox Showcase coming 29th October or the Ultimate Edition for 15th October is the next installment of the Life is Strange series. This game follows on from the events of the 2015 original with the return of Max Caulfield. After the events of the original game Max vowed to never use her powers again. Now let’s play through the story where she needs to revisit that decision.

After many delays which have been pretty much out of the hands of GSC Game World, STALKERS 2 is coming. The first full sequel to the original game we return to the exclusion zone. The game will be available on PC and Xbox Series X/S on 5th September. In the meantime, both console and PC have access to the original title and spin-offs. For those interested we have a preview here.

Developed by Obsidian who gave us The Outer Worlds and Fallout New Vegas. The fantasy action RPG is set to hit PC and Xbox Series X/S later this year. More information on this upcoming title can be seen in a recent Xbox Wire post.

Star Wars Outlaws

Developed by Massive Entertainment is the first fully open-world Star Wars adventure as described by Ubisoft. They also developed The Division and its sequel Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora last year. Available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 on 30th August. However, the Gold and Ultimate Editions are available on the 27th of August.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

From the team responsible for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the team goes back to its RPG style. Set in the much-requested era of Feudal Japan we have two protagonists and an ever-changing environment thanks to seasonal changes to the location. Available on 15th November for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The Gold and Ultimate Edition launch three days earlier on 12th November.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In 2018 we saw the introduction of Henry of Skalitz. Later this year we see him return in the sequel to Kingdom Come Deliverance. The two trailers have only told us it’s due this year for current-gen consoles and PCs. The last we saw of the series was the recent port to the Switch for the first game.

Indiana Jones And The Great Circle

Dr Jones is back later this year on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Developed by Machine Games, the team behind the recent Wolfenstein entries. Produced by long-time fan Todd Howard we see a new entry set between Raiders of The Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Troy Baker steps into the role Harrison Ford made his own.
