It’s hard not to be aware of the awful events unfolding in Ukraine. It’s an awful situation and I personally have the people of Ukraine in my thoughts like many of us around the world. These events affect many of the things we take for granted. For refrence, Apple have stopped selling its products in Russia. If we look to the gaming scene however we will see STALKER 2 development delayed as GSC Game World are located in Kiev. This is on top of an earlier announcement of delays in december of last year.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, has published an open letter. The letter was addressed to all game development companies and esports platforms. He calls for a temporary block on accounts that come from Russia or Belarus. Deputy Prime Minister Fedorov had his open letter published on Twitter mentioning the official Xbox and Playstation accounts.
What The letter Said
Looking at the open letter, it states the following:
At the time of writing, neither company have released statements on the matter. Sony is about to release Gran Turismo 7 and seeing it be pulled off out of Russian stores is not entirely out of the picture. Additionally, Sony Pictures, in conjunction with other major films studios, have indefinitely delayed the release of Morbius in Russian territory.
