The Story With Shinji Mikami
At first, we had an article from True Achievements. They claimed to have seen emails regarding Mikami and him potentially leaving Tango Gameworks. Since then we’ve seen an official announcement on Twitter. So, let’s look at the correct state of play.
So Mikami has indeed left the company. Bethesda senior vice president Todd Vaughan was reported to have spoken about this. This we mentioned just before as True Achievements reported on leaked emails. Baugh said he was “writing today to let you know that studio head Shinji Mikami has decided to leave Tango Gameworks in the coming months.
Mikami-san has been a creative leader and supportive mentor to young developers at Tango for 12 years through his work on the Evil Within franchise, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and of course, Hi-Fi Rush”.
As to why and what future plans we don’t know as yet. We’d also love to hear your thoughts on this news.
