Looking back to early 2020, it’s clear that the world underwent a major transformation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The shutdowns affected numerous sectors, with shops, schools, and sports being significantly impacted for several months. Conventions, including E3, were also put on hold, leading to the shift towards online events such as Ubisoft Forward and Nintendo Directs.
As we approach this year’s E3, it’s clear that the expo is undergoing a revamp, and there’s some uncertainty surrounding the event. Despite this, Ubisoft has confirmed its presence, while Sony has decided not to attend, as they did in 2019. Microsoft’s expected absence is the biggest surprise, especially since they still have Starfield to launch. Meanwhile, Nintendo’s biggest title, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, will already be available on Switch by the time the event starts, having launched on May 12th.
Nintendo At E3. Yes Or No
A statement posted in an article by Venture Beat answers that question. So will Nintendo have a stage presence st this this Summer’s showcase. Therefore let’s look at what the company have to say. They said they “approach our involvement in any event on a case-by-case basis and are always considering various ways to engage with our fans. Since this year’s E3 show didn’t fit into our plans, we have made the decision to not participate. However, we have been and continue to be a strong supporter of the ESA and E3″. So. It seems it’s a case of Nintendo’s schedule didn’t fit into when the return of E3 was scheduled this Summer.
