Just recently we brought you a review for the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. Now the complete Modern Warfare 2 (Multiplayer and Campaign) isn’t out yet. Certain regions such as New Zealand have access to the full game as thanks to time zones it’s the 28th October over in that part of the world. Now one thing we’ve seen with recent entries to Call of Duty is the amount of space needed is pretty hefty. In fact, it’s reported the PlayStation version is around 150GB. On the Xbox Series X yesterday it sat at 90.3GB.
Today I noticed a 63.73GB update, that’s not unusual for games nowadays. After the update, the game sat at 110.1GB. However, Push Square noticed something, and at this point, this is a PlayStation-only issue. But we’d love to hear from you if you notice it on a physical copy for the Xbox Series X|S. The reason being is this issue seems to only affect physical copies.
COD Modern Warfare 2 Physical Copies May Have A Problem
As we see from the Push Square article, the game on disc is taking just over 70MB of data. Now PlayStation 5 for example uses UHD Discs. A blank blu-ray holds considerably more than 70MB. So the question is why are the physical copies at least for PlayStation holding only 72.23MB as seen on Twitter?
VGC noticed this as well and stated that the UHD discs for the PlayStation 5 can hold 100GB. So what is your take on this news? As always we’d love to hear from you, especially if you are planning to get a physical copy of the game on Xbox. Many people use physical copies for various reasons, such as poor Internet speeds, resale options, and sometimes a lower price. In the UK at the start of the last gen, a digital game could be £60 and physical nearly half that in some stores.
