Not too long ago we brought you the story about the return of a popular trilogy in the GTA franchise. This is said to be Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition. Recently, some news came to light on this release accidentally by Rockstar.
The Story
Originally reported to be remakes, it seems now we have a remastered release to look forward to as rumors took a new turn today. In the Rockstar PC launcher, references were found. These led to the current story of a Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition. The main indicator being the appearance of the achievement icons for the release. Yet we still have no news from Rockstar but this would not be unusual. Even though the Taiwanese age rating board has a listing
GTA Titles
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition includes GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas. The launcher had references to all of the individual titles. We also have references in this to all of the games using the Unreal Engine
The launcher has references to all three individual games and lists them as using Unreal Engine, just as the original rumors suggested.
Platforms
Naturally, the Rockstar launcher is available on PC but it would be unlikely it is a PC exclusive. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition is expected to launch on:
- Xbox One
- Xbox Series X/S
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- Nintendo Switch
The PC version is expected to follow later alongside Stadia. It also has had a rumored mobile version
Officially this release has yet to be revealed. Hopefully, as we come to the end of the year we hear some sort of announcement.
