Alchemy Stars 1.5 Year Anniversary A Little to the Left: A Cozy Organizer’s Dream Primitive – A Stone Age Survival Shooter Starship Troopers Extermination Is A Bug Filled FPS Warhaven Global Beta Test Results

Time to reminisce about two generations back. Towards the end of that era, we saw the introduction of one of the most iconic survival horrors from a man called Glen Schofield. Thankfully we know he’s returning to the genre this December with the highly anticipated The Callisto Protocol. So let’s go back to 2010 and introduce you to Glen Schofield’s Dead Space. A game that is also returning a month after The Callisto Protocol with a full remake by EA Motive.

Glen Schofield’s Dead Space is a survival horror where you play Isaac Clarke who lands with his crew on the Ishimura which has gone silent and you need to find why. Heavily inspired by the feel of Resident Evil 4 and films like Event Horizon we have a survival horror that has passed the test of time and is still holding the same feel today.

Glen Schofield’s Dead Space In The Modern Day

A YouTuber by the name of ElAnalistaDeBits has compared the recent trailer with the original gameplay. Naturally, the upcoming remake takes the game visually to another level. However playing through the original again, for a twelve-year-old title, it holds up very well indeed. Obviously the original isn’t as detailed in terms of textures or lighting, but it still holds up visually.

Playing the game today again isn’t as smooth as a modern-day title. Even with that, it’s still extremely playable and not a frustrating experience which some old games can be. The game was incredibly well built and it’s very much evident a couple of generations on. So playing through on 2022, the original release from 2010 is still everything we remember. If the remake captures the magic of the original then we have the treat to come next year. All footage captured is the Xbox 360 version running on a Xbox Series X via backward compatibility. What do you think about the game? Are you a fan of the original?
