PAX West 2024 has come and gone, and I have had some time to reflect on the games I missed out on playing. PAX West is a 4-day conference that focuses on tabletop and video games that takes place in Seattle, Washington. Unlike PAX East, PAX West spans across two distinct buildings, and I only had the opportunity to participate in two of the four days. So the titles I am going to list are games I was not able to play due to my very tight schedule. So let’s jump into my list of games I missed out on playing at PAX West.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Starting off with a big one, look folks even with the one hour of media time on Friday this game had the longest of lines. There was just no point where I would not have spent a large portion of my day waiting to play the Monster Hunter Wilds Demo. But I was lucky enough to get a friend of mine to play and get me the exclusive pin they were giving out. So I will be waiting for the official release date to get hands on with the latest in the Monster Hunter series.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind

This one cut me deep, missing out on playing the upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Game was a mix of miscommunication and bad timing. But the levels of hype I have for this game are taller than any zords. When I seen the announcement trailer at Summer Game Fest, I felt like the critic from Ratatouille, as if I was transported back to my childhood. Beat ’em-ups are always an enjoyable genre, that I am glad is making a big resurgence. So seeing a modern Power Rangers version brought a nostalgic joy to my gamer heart.
Sky The Scraper

Ryo Kobuchi has developed a game that revolves around being a high-rise window cleaner, something I never thought I would want to play. A mix of life management and fast-paced wire-swinging action, you take on the role of a young building window cleaner working to achieve his dreams. Thankfully, there is a demo available on Steam that I will be checking out soon! Make sure to add this one to your wishlist.
Oneway.exe

As a professional scaredy cat, this game called out to me like a siren once I saw the trailer. >One Way looks like it will provide plenty of scares with its fully voiced dialogue and 3D world to explore. Your past, pop-up ads, and spam emails will haunt you as you strive to survive. On my last day of PAX West, I noticed the booth and was mad at myself for missing it. So if you are interested in a new take on horror, make sure to add >One Way to your wishlist.
