EA Secures Multi-Million Football Deal

EA

Electronic Arts (EA) is widely recognized for its diverse portfolio of renowned brands. From racing games like Need For Speed to first-person shooters like Battlefield, to role-playing games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, to survival horror games like Dead Space, the company has established a reputation for delivering quality entertainment. Additionally, EA also holds the rights to several Star Wars games, including Battlefront, Squadrons, Jedi Fallen Order, and the upcoming Jedi Survivor. EA Sports, another popular subsidiary of the company, is also set to release the latest addition to its PGA Tour series this year. Despite its success with FIFA, the company ended its association with the governing body of football.

It has been confirmed that FIFA 23 will be the final installment in the franchise under its current name. Starting this year, the game will be referred to as EA Sports FC after dropping the FIFA title. The change was officially announced just under a year ago. At present, it is expected that the gameplay will remain unchanged, but this could potentially be subject to alteration in the future

EA Sports FC And Where It Goes Next

It seems the English Premier League will be involved after news from Sky Sports. Both studio and the Premier League have agreed on a deal. EA is paying the Premier League £488 million to keep its “status as the Premier League’s lead partner and official video-game license-holder”. Sky also state all 20 Premier League clubs were informed recently. Though it still remains to be seen if this new deal was put in place after the legal issue regarding the Premier L and champions Manchester City which rocked the game just recently.

Many fans of the sport have grown up with the FIFA name. I’ve personally played the franchise for as long as it’s existed going back to FIFA Internation Soccer which turns thirty this December.
