After a rocky launch, Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally arrived on PC. Console players have a more complicated road ahead. PlayStation users can dive in next month, but Xbox fans face a longer wait. The culprit seems to be the Xbox Series S hardware.

As Pure Xbox reported, developer Larian has struggled to get split-screen co-op to perform evenly on both the Xbox Series X and Series S. They require feature parity between the consoles, so leaving co-op out of the Series S version isn’t an option. Larian has been vocal about the issues on Twitter. Ultimately, Xbox players of all stripes will need to be patient as Larian works to optimize Baldur’s Gate 3 for their platform.

Baldur’s Gate On Xbox – Now For The Possible Good News

For a few, they may be unfamiliar with the franchise. The original game came out in 1998 and a remake appeared in 2012. Console users didn’t experience it until 2019. The sequel came out in 1999 and was remastered in 2013. Again console users saw this in 2019. For those unfamiliar with the franchise or unsure, buying the game is a move some may be hesitant to do. However, Xbox users may get some news here. It seems both Baldur’s Gate and its sequel is Game Pass bound. So possibly good news for Xbox owners waiting for the third game.

I am also in the UK and have yet to receive this notification. Though it could have been sent in error so take this with a pinch of salt.
