Starship Troopers: Extermination Console Bound? In Tanta We Trust, Or Do We? Alan Wake 2 Out In October And Digital Only Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Revealed Layers Of Fear Release News And Demo Drops

Horror games and remakes of horror titles seem to be popular at present. We’ve had remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident 3. Both of which were upgraded for the current console generation. Along with this, we are getting a remake of Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space. We saw rumors of Silent Hill returning. Now it seems we have another survival horror. This one is a reboot of Alone in the Dark.

Alone in the Dark initially launched way back in 1992. Therefore putting it a few years before Resident Evil and Silent Hill. This new title we don’t know when it’s coming out but Pieces Interactive is developing it. An announcement on the PlayStation blog by Liz Pieri who’s responsible for Marketing North America for THQ Nordic says the developer

Developers Pieces Interactive is a mix of hot new talent and seasoned veteran developers. An engaging story has been created by Mikael Hedberg, cult horror writer of SOMA and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, some of the most acclaimed narrative horror experiences of the last decade. Legendary Guillermo del Toro collaborator, Guy Davis, has contributed monster designs. And Doom Jazz legend Jason Köhnen provides eerie and haunting melodies to create a tense, twisted and haunting audio atmosphere.

What We Know About Alone in the Dark

Even though we have a PlayStation blog post it’s not a PlayStation exclusive. It will also launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC. It’s been in development since 2019 and has no release date. The blog post does give good news if you’ve never played the originals

In Alone in the Dark, you’ll experience a completely original story, but it does incorporate characters, places, and themes from the original ’90s trilogy. No prior knowledge of the original titles is required to enjoy the game, but fans of the series will find plenty that is familiar.

Also if you’re after more information about what to expect

The game features classic survival horror gameplay, as you’d expect. You’ll explore environments, solve puzzles, and experience a deep psychological original horror story. You’ll also experience hyper-tense action and combat as you battle supernatural monsters.

So will you be picking this up when it launches? If you are interested in seeing more why not look at the trailer above. As always we’d love to hear from you about this news.
