Xbox May Get Smaller Announcements Before Summer

Xbox

In recent times, the gaming community has been abuzz with the recent State of Play event by Sony, with speculations rife about another event lined up by the tech giant this Summer. Similarly, Nintendo’s regular Nintendo Directs have been commonplace for a while. However, there has been a lingering question in the minds of avid gamers – what about Xbox?

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) has undergone some significant changes as well, with the confirmation of Ubisoft’s participation. Xbox, like Sony, has opted to host their event, and they are even set to present the upcoming Paradox Interactive showcase. However, what lies beyond that?

Off the success of their recent developer direct which saw Hi-Fi rush get shadow-dropped, the Xbox gaming community is eagerly awaiting any news or updates regarding future events and showcases.

Phil Spencer About The Future On Xbox

Pure Xbox has an extract from the interview and it seems we may see some “GoldenEye type announcements” coming our way. Which is interesting to say the least. The extract quotes Phil as saying“So, a lot of our focus right now is on the showcase in June, but there’s some news that’s coming out. I mean, things that… you know, we did GoldenEye… I’m thinking like, you know, GoldenEye type announcements. So, there’ll be things available, games available in different services. Obviously, the Game Pass portfolio continues to grow, but most of our focus as a team is really on getting ready for the showcase.”. So for news what could it be. The article does refer to Ghostwire Tokyo which had a year of exclusivity on PlayStation.
