If you remember last year it was a period whenever Ubisoft was in the news it was not normally positive. Financial issues, games canceled, and Yves Guillemot’s actions led to a strike by staff. We saw games delayed as well. Since then we’ve seen launches for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, The Crew Motorfest and Avatar is due in a few weeks. However, one game from January subject to delay has seemingly vanished again. That’s the pirate game Skull and Bones.
Skull and Bones has had a really troubled development. It’s been in development for a number of years and the closest it’s been to release was it was not too long ago up for preorder and even was available to play at the alpha and beta stage. The official website still has the pre-order links and price with the option to register for future tests. So we could be forgiven for thinking the game is finally close to being available or at least going gold. Well, Ubisoft has an announcement on the release of their pirate title.
Skull and Bones – Release Coming Or Fans Left In The Lurch
An article from Eurogamer doesn’t give good news for fans patiently waiting. It seems Ubisoft has results for its latest earnings report. Therefore as part of this, their pirate adventure has been delayed again. It’s now set to arrive in the early parts of 2024. However, that is subject to the game not being subject to any more delays. It’s a game that has been in development for a decade now. The first reveal was in 2017 and we are no closer to launch. This is not the only game they are delaying. The other is rumored to be Star Wars Outlaws. However, this has yet to be confirmed.
