The Regime has conquered Earth, and it’s up to you and three other fighters to use guerilla warfare to fight back. Developed by the Polaris Team and published by Variable State, Polaris is an open-map sci-fi co-op shooter with fully destructible environments. You will be using vehicles, unearthing the planets mysteries, and extracting to fight another day as a legendary Skylancer.
Developed by an 11-person team and with the power of Unreal Engine 5, Polaris has a lot of different mechanics that are being fleshed out with community playtests. Sign-ups for the upcoming pre-alpha are now open. You can find information below about the sign-up process and the number of keys you can obtain, as Skylancers are never alone when taking on The Regime.

According to the developers, Polaris will be a complete experience at launch, not a live service title. Syndicate, Colony Wars, Just Cause, Red Faction, and even Earth Defense Force serve as inspiration for this game. With each play session being a unique reactive destructible environment, Polaris aims to be a cool extraction experience.
“No, Polaris will offer a complete experience at launch. That said, if big AAA studios don’t get everything right day one, our little team certainly won’t, so we’ll no doubt be making bug fixes and balancing changes after release, and we’ll take that responsibility seriously. If people dig what we’ve made and would like more, we’ll definitely consider it, so long as we won’t bankrupt ourselves in the process. But I don’t want to sell people something which is incomplete, half-finished, or where we’re pitching as-yet-unrealised potential. We just want to make a cool game, and we hope it looks cool to you, too!”
If this game sounds like something you would want to play, you can get in early and help this title reach its full potential. There is no official release date available, and at this point it will not be going into early access. But there will be alphas and betas to participate in, so make sure to wishlist on Steam to stay up to date with Polaris’ progress.
