We have some fresh updates from Kazunori Yamauchi, the CEO of Polyphony Digital, who is famously known for the Gran Turismo racing series. The studio released the seventh main installment in the series last year and it might be the final one for PlayStation 4. However, Yamauchi has confirmed that an eighth installment is in the works. He spoke to Game Watch about this development and expressed his gratitude towards Racing Games for spreading the news. Yamauchi has already begun working on the upcoming game but refrained from revealing any further details at this point.

There’s more to come for the franchise in the upcoming days. Polyphony Digital is set to push Gran Turismo to new heights with the release of the PlayStation VR 2 headset. In fact, the studio has already made strides in this direction by announcing a game upgrade. The best part? It won’t cost you a dime as the VR 2 upgrade is free.

Apart from a free upgrade for Sony’s upcoming new VR headset for PlayStation 5, Yamauchi has revealed more to come. The racer will be getting more content when the VR 2 upgrade launches which is going to be available for all owners of the game. This was revealed on Twitter

Yamauchi revealed four cars are coming as part of a big update. As to what the cars are we are yet to find out.
