Fntastic may not be a well-known developer, but their upcoming title The Day Before has garnered attention. It’s an ambitious zombie MMO survival game that was initially set to release on PC on March 1st, 2023. The game will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, though it’s unclear if the console release will be on the same day as the PC release.
Recently, there have been some interesting videos about the game, which led some streamers to question its authenticity. However, in response to these concerns, the developer announced in January that raw gameplay footage would be released later that month. The footage was finally released on February 2nd, which can be viewed below. This was when Fntastic first encountered problems with the game.
Fntastic And The Problems With The Day Before
According to a report by Eurogamer, and other sources, the highly anticipated game that was previously listed on Steam has suddenly vanished from the platform. The removal of the Steam listing has sparked concern among gamers just weeks before the game’s launch. The developer initially claimed that everything was fine, but it seems that was far from the truth.
So they forgot to trademark the game and the reason Steam removed the game was someone else claimed the trademark and asked for the game to be removed which the developer announced.
Dear fans,
Right before the release, Steam blocked our game page at the request of a private individual, because of the name The Day Before.
As you know, our game was announced in January 2021. At the time of the announcement, The Day Before game trademark was available.
After the announcement of the game, the above mentioned individual filled out an application before us to register the game trademark The Day Before in the United States.
Recently, the developer announced a delay of the game’s launch until November 10th. This has become a hot topic on Steam and may explain why the gameplay trailer was released just a day ago, instead of in January. The state of the game remains unclear, and there is speculation that it could even be a name change. Regardless, the launch of this game has become a chaotic mess.
