After rumors flew around about its possibility, last week’s State of Play was shown and it opened with dinosaurs and a game by Capcom. But it isn’t a new Dino Crisis, it’s a new IP called Exo Primal.
Capcom must have seen and heard the cries for a return of Dino Crisis. Next year marks the 20th anniversary of Dino Crisis 3 which is the last entry in the series. We even heard rumors of a reboot or sequel which has yet to materialize as yet. After remakes of the first three Resident Evil games being greenlit and releasing, it’s a fair request to see this return. But Exo Primal may have a little nod to Dino Crisis. And that comes in the form of Hiroyuki Kobayashi.
Exo Primal And The Dino Crisis Connection
Hiroyuki Kobayashi knows Dino Crisis well. In fact, he’s a key name to that franchise. Kobayashi is credited as part of the planning of the original Dino Crisis and a producer for both the sequels. And now he’s working with the Exo Primal development team to bring Capcom’s new IP to life. Consequently, it was Kobayashi who confirmed this involvement via Twitter
The English translation shows a list of titles Kobayashi worked on as we see the original tweet is in Japanese.
A new title that Kobayashi was deeply involved in! Resident Evil Dino Crisis Mysterious Detective Devil May Cry PN03 Under the Skin Panic Maker Killer7 Sengoku BASARA Dragon’s Dogma Gaist Crusher Great Reversal Trial Megami Meguri Exo Primal
What do you make of this? Does it make Exo Primal more interesting or would you rather Capcom worked on the remakes and franchises fans want.
