When we look back on many of the most hyped and promising-looking games over the last decade, some immediately come to mind. Whether it was No Mans Sky, The Last of Us Part 2, or even Cyberpunk 2077, developers saw the potential of the 8th generation of consoles and ran with it. However, all of the listed games did not deliver on the hype set up for them. An empty galaxy, a lackluster follow-up to the best PlayStation 3 game, and an abhorrent misuse of the gaming community’s trust can identify each of these titles that, over time, improved in quality for gamers and what the developers wanted out of their vision, mostly. But what if there was one game that looked too good to be true, but ended up delivering despite the crazy expectations put onto it?

Enter Atomic Heart by Mundfish. At Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest, the sequel Atomic Heart 2, was announced and looks even crazier than the original title. With the original delivering on all of its crazy gameplay and visual promises, watching the reveal trailer for the sequel was able to properly excite me. Even more so, was the fact that Mundfish also announced an equally good-looking multiplayer spin-off title in the games universe they made called The Cube. Here is everything we know about the games so far, and why you should be excited!
What you Need to know about Atomic Heart 2 and The Cube
Atomic Heart 2 seems like it’s going to take the setting of the original game and dial it up to 11. A giant city, long, windy roads, and beaches to kill robots in? It looks like it has it all, even with weapons and enemies. We did see some big robots, and some more fleshy giants, and P-3 from the original game holding a melee weapon fused with a guitar. Just the right amount of craziness infused with the new sci-fi elements in the narrative. They did not show much of what to expect in the story, but there was a really clean and beautiful sequence in space.
But Mundfish did not stop at just a sequel for Atomic Heart. There is also a multiplayer shooter coming as well, called The Cube. The game features the same level of visual fidelity, mixed with the usual robots, giant fish people, and moving environments. The movement also features wall-runnin,g which should no doubt excite Titanfall fans. There also seem to be crazy levels of gun modifications and returning characters from Atomic Heart.
Finally, before Mundfish left, they also revealed their first published title, called ILL. The game is going to be a first-person survival horror game with scary visuals and a haunting setting. Featuring dismemberment, impossible giant humans in cramped spaces, and more. The game will be developed by Team Clout and will be their debut title.
Mundfish showed up with very promising reveals, and if the original Atomic Heart was able to deliver on everything Mundfish showed for so many years prior to its release? The three above games should be on your radar! Atomic Heart 2, The Cube, and ILL do not have release dates at this time, but they will be launching on PC and consoles when they do.
