Game Science has finally released Black Myth: Wukong, making it available for play. We also included it in our list of anticipated games last year. Now that we’ve played the game, we can understand why people were excited to see it running, as it looks absolutely incredible. For example, we captured all the screens in this article using a PlayStation 5. If you were eagerly anticipating this game and prepared to play it, you might have encountered some difficulties. So, if you’re confused as to what I am talking about, let me clarify.

When the game launched, it was available on PlayStation 5 and PC. At the Game Awards on 8th December 2023, the game received its release date trailer. Let’s examine the description of the same trailer. It tells us that “Black Myth: Wukong is now available to wishlist on Steam and Epic Games Store. Coming soon to PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X/S”. However, the title did not make its way to the Xbox consoles, leaving players out once it launched in August. Pure Xbox first reported on a memory leak-related delay, then speculated that it might be due to an exclusivity agreement with Sony.

When Can Xbox Users Expect To See Black Myth: Wukong
The trailer clearly advertises the game for Xbox with an August release date. Thankfully, a recent article by Pure Xbox could give Xbox fans some positive news. It appears that the game is finally making its way to Xbox hardware. The article informs us that the ESRB has issued a rating for the Xbox release. The game’s listing indicates that it will be on the “Windows PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series.”
Hopefully, the Xbox version of Black Myth: Wukong has resolved its issues that initially led to the delay. With that, we can anticipate an Xbox Series X|S release date in the near future. Recently, a similar situation happened with the ESRB rating for Kena: Bridge of Spirits on Xbox. This occurred prior to the announcement of any port.
