Zenless Zone Zero has been on an uptrend as of late. As they recently released their game-changing 1.4 update that not only gave the game some of the best feeling characters ever. But also new weekly challenges to chase, and even a Bangboo platformer mode. The latter of which can be easily mistaken as inspired by Sony’s recent game of the year winner, Astro Bot. But they are not done with the game until their eventual 2.0 version update. They recently hosted their version 1.5 stream, which showcased a lot of cool goodies coming to the game. From a batch of new characters, a new story chapter, and outfits. Here is everything they talked about from their version 1.5 stream!
Version 1.5 Stream Breakdown for Zenless Zone Zero
For starters, they showed off the upcoming story chapter “Harmonic Pact”. Which will focus on Astra, whom you meet after finishing the 1.4 update finale. Then followed this up with a brief gameplay demo for her and Evelyn. Astra is a more methodical caster type, with Evelyn being a more “in your face” melee character. The two will be new characters you can pull for on the upcoming Gacha banners when 1.5 goes live. There will be reruns for past characters if you missed them, such as Ellen and Qingyi. One of the highlight features of the 1.5 update will be the addition of outfits.
They will start out with three you can obtain. One for Astra, one for Ellen, the shark girl from the game’s launch who is also receiving a dedicated story in this update, and one for Nicole. Nicole’s can be earned for free via an in-game event, while the other two will have to be bought on their own.
There will also be added cooperative play for the Vampire Survivors inspired Bizarre Bridgade arcade game. As well as a new Bangboo player vs player game mode. There were only brief snippets of the gameplay, but part of it was clearly inspired by Fall Guys. Alongside the new mini-game additions was a cool-looking retro racer called “Mach 25”, and one for fishing.
Outside of all of this, there will be some awesome changes coming to Zenless Zone Zero. The first is a dynamic wallpaper update that will allow you to select multiple wallpapers that will rotate randomly. This will allow you to see a few of the character wallpapers when you open the pause menu. But for gameplay changes, the Notorious Hunt boss battles will be a straight shot to the selected boss now.
