Last week we got the confirmation about the GTA Trilogy rumor. Finally, Rockstar confirmed that the rumors were real. However, for an exact release, we have nothing to tell you. Now it seems we have a possible GTA Trilogy price point. However, it seems the question is, how accurate is it.
GTA Trilogy price. So what we know so far.
They were removing the original trilogy from the store from the 11th. At the time of writing the trilogy is still available on the PlayStation Store. If we look on the Xbox Store, however, it doesn’t seem to be available. So we know the price point on that. However, the remastered GTA Trilogy price is seemingly going to be different.
Even though Rockstar has said nothing on a price, the GTA Trilogy price leaked thanks to UK retailer Base. They had the collection up for preorder and the details were found by Twitter user Darealbandicoot who retweeted the listing. Okami Games retweeted his info with a screenshot of the price. Since this news broke, the retailer has removed the listing from the store.
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will retail for £59.99. Though Base had a slightly cheaper price. For PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S it was priced at £69.99. Again the physical copy is priced slightly cheaper. This is however normal for this retailer to have physical copies slightly cheaper.
Sadly no news on a release date as yet. The listing had a release date of 31st December 2021. Which is a usual placeholder. Though a Gamesradar post where it states only last-gen systems get this year on 7th December. To counter that, it was spotted with a November release date on Steam
The problem with this news on price.
Take-Two doesn’t seem to be offering any free upgrade option. This would look more evident with the fact there is a separate Series X/S release so likely they are bypassing Smart Delivery. Games on PlayStation often see a separate release for both console generations. However, for Xbox, they have one release. Most upgrades use Smart Delivery.
What are your views on this? Will you be picking this up or will you now be waiting for a sale? We don’t know the scale of changes so could be getting close to 3 full remakes on the Unreal Engine. As always we’d love to hear your thoughts on this news.
