Blizzard has just announced that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has been delayed until the later part of 2020. This will allow the time for devs to process and address player feedback on balance and endgame tuning. Previously, the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands launch was scheduled for October 27, 2020, following build-up and teases from Blizzard.
The delay is particularly interesting due to the devs insistence that even with Covid-19 the expansion would arrive on time. Worries have circulated over the past few months with fan concerned the expansion wouldn’t be ready in time for the late October launch. Additionally, as players were given access to the game’s beta build and gave Blizzard feedback it became increasingly obvious that there were some serious balance issues going on in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.
Luckily for fans of the game, Blizzard has decided to take action making the difficult decision to move World of Warcraft: Shadowlands launch until later this year. The announcement was made on the game’s official Twitter via John Hight, executive producer of World of Warcraft.
There are obviously mixed feelings about the delay. Disappointing is a big one but they’re also taking it well with many people celebrating the fact the expansion will be better polished by the time it arrives. Blizzard has yet to give a new launch date aside form later 2020.
