Back in January 2021, MachineGames, the studio behind the Wolfenstein series, announced that a new Indiana Jones game would be released in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.

“A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, @MachineGames, and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with @LucasfilmGames. It’ll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!” was tweeted out by the official Bethesda Twitter handle.

The announcement of this game came just months before Microsoft officially made Zenimax, the parent company of Bethesda, officially part of the Xbox family. Which rightfully so had gamers wondering if the title will make its way to PlayStation 5 because this being a Bethesda title, the new Indiana Jones game could be an Xbox Series X and PC exclusive. As of today, no one knows the details behind the deal Bethesda struck with Lucas films. Hence, anything is possible as Microsoft and Xbox have a history of respecting and honoring previously signed deals.

With the Xbox and Bethesda Showcases coming up in a few weeks, this is a great time to answer a lot of questions. Not only that, but it gives us a preview of what the game will look like. It’s safe to say that Machine Games is hard at work on the title, and there have been rumors that every studio at Xbox has submitted something for the Showcase. Spotlighting a new exclusive Indian Jones game would be a significant move by the Xbox team.
