To understand why everyone is excited about Battlefield 6, you first need a little history. I first fell in love with the Battlefield series when I played Bad Company 2. Since then, I’ve seen the franchise rise to amazing heights and also fall to disappointing lows.
The Battlefield franchise first began in 2002 with Battlefield 1942. That game that introduced large scale battles with tanks, planes, and infantry all fighting at once. Unlike other shooters at the time, it focused on teamwork, strategy, and vehicle combat, which made it stand out right away. Over the years, DICE experimented with different eras and styles. Such Battlefield Vietnam, the cops and robbers theme of Battlefield Hardline, and even futuristic settings like Battlefield 2142. Each entry added new layers of destruction, scale, and realism, creating a series known for pushing the limits of what a war game could be.
The series was at their best for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 . However in 2015, Battlefield Hardline came out, and the series started to lose what made it special. For years, fans have been waiting for the magic to return.
Now it finally feels like it’s back. EA has listened to the community and brought back the fast, boots on the ground action fans have been asking for. They even opened free betas so players could test the game early. After playing it myself and seeing what others are saying, Battlefield 6 feels like a love letter to the classics. The destruction is bigger and better than ever, the weapons are exciting to use, and most importantly, the community is loving it.
So who is Battlefield for? If you enjoy first-person shooters, large-scale military combat, and over-the-top action, then this game is made for you. For the first time in a long while, Battlefield feels like a real alternative to Call of Duty. Still, the best way to know is to try it yourself. With the open beta live, now is the perfect time to jump in and see what all the hype is about.
