Were Game of the Year Nominations Predictable?

Game of the Year Nominations Are Finally Here. And honestly, they got it right. The Game of the Year nominations just dropped, and even though a lot of it was predictable, they made the right call. The first four have basically been locked in for months. Everyone knew these games were going to show up:
Expedition 33, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Hades II, and Donkey Kong Bananza.
These four have been talked about nonstop all year, so no shock there. That left only two open spots, and that’s where the real conversation started.

Now, let’s be honest, we all knew one of those last two spots was going straight to Death Stranding 2. The Kojima bias is real, and the moment the nominations were announced, you could almost hear everyone saying, “Yep… called it.”

So the real battle came down to the final open slot. And that spot had some strong contenders fighting for it:
Splitfiction, Ghost Of Yotei, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Blue Prince.
Each one had people rooting for it, and nobody really knew who would sneak in. It felt like the whole community was waiting for this exact moment.

And to my surprise Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 actually got it! I’ll be real, KCD2 is not a game for me personally, but I completely understand why people love it. It has a big fan base, it does something unique, and it definitely earned its place.

Now that all six nominations are finally revealed, I think it’s safe to say the winner is pretty much locked in. Unless something crazy happens, Expedition 33 is walking away with Game of the Year.

And honestly? I’m not mad at it. They made the right call this year.
