LV1 gaming news update for the week of August 31st, 2020, is about award winners and Super Mario. Firstly, Gamescom 2020 ended and Cyberpunk 2077 left the conference with a healthy amount of awards. “Best Role-Playing Game” and “Best PC Game” just to name a few. Xbox Series X won the “Most Wanted Hardware and Technology Award” however, the price is still not available as of now. Moreover, Nvidia revealed its GeForce RTX 3000 Series of graphic cards this week. The 3070 will be more powerful than the 2080 Ti and cost $499. The 3080 will perform 2x better than the 2080 Ti and will cost $699. Finally, the 3090 will be the world’s first 8k gaming GPU for $1499.
The Witcher is now making its way into augmented reality mobile gaming. The Witcher Monster Slayer will have RPG inspired combat and contain a wide range of monsters from the series. Will be released on IOS and Android by winter 2020. Also in the news, Nintendo had another direct centered around the 35th Anniversary of Super Mario. A limited digital and physical release of the Super Mario 3D Allstars which will be available from September 18th, 2020 till March 31st, 2021. Finally, Playstation 5 is in the news for its supposed lack of backward compatibility. According to Ubisoft only a few titles from PS4 will be playable on the next-gen console.
