Seems Ubisoft are pretty much in the news right now. Earlier this month they told us their subscription service is heading to Xbox. On the same day of this announcement, they also told us that Rainbow Six: Extraction was available day one on Game Pass. That game is based on one of the limited time events. But these aren’t the only recent games to launch with Game Pass. Prior to this generation we saw the recent Watch Dogs: Legion as well as the launch of Assassins Creed the same day as the Xbox Series X/S.
But if we look at Watchdogs it’s had a varied history. The original title will always be known for the huge differences from it’s E3 showings and what we got at launch. The sequel fared better and now we have Watchdogs Legion. So this title has also kept Ubisoft in the news again. We’ve heard rumours of a Microsoft buyout following the recent developments with them and Activision.
Where Ubisoft Will Take the Series
Following a period of support, it appears Ubisoft is pretty much done with the game. However it’s not an old title as such but they have no more plans to update the game. This is how they closed off the news of what seems a farewell to the game:
TU 5.6 was our final update for Watch Dogs: Legion. However, you can look forward to reward tracks in the Online Mode, containing both new and returning rewards. The current season 4 Rebels track, containing 80 ranks, will run until January 22, 2022, followed by Season 5 Stripes. After that, Seasons 3-5 will continue to cycle and return to the game, giving you the opportunity to acquire rewards you might have missed out on in the past. Some rewards to look forward to is a modified version of Aiden Pearce’s jacket, and Jackson’s mask and clothing set.
The game has grown by leaps and bounds, with a ton of content to explore, from a sprawling near future city to an action-packed Online Mode. We couldn’t be prouder of the game we’ve created, and we appreciate all of you who’ve joined us on this journey in London over the year. We look forward to seeing more of your adventures in Legion!
