Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 has had a tumultuous track record. From the original dev team being let go, to getting an entirely new dev team. This is after more than 2 decades at this point since the original game launched on PC in 2004. It almost felt like the game would never see light of day; it still doesn’t feel like it. However, during Gamescom, we finally got an official Bloodlines 2 release date!
It still feels surreal that the game is coming out. After what was almost certainly a death sentence during the German-based showcase, we got a nice trailer giving us a bit of story. The feeling and tone from the trailer is much different than the original. Showing that the Chinese Room devs are telling a different story. Vastly different than the story being told by the Hardsuit Labs team. You can watch the trailer down below for yourself:
Now, in the trailer, we get a good glimpse of the story. Now following what seems to be 2 main characters. We also see plenty of gameplay of the vampire powers in full effect. They look stylish, deadly, and everything you’d want in the World of Darkness. You truly get that supernatural feeling.
However, despite all this, the biggest news is at the end of the trailer. We now have the official Bloodlines 2 release date. The game will be launching on October 21st of this year. Quite fitting for it to come out during the spookiest time of the year. It will be launching on Steam, Epic Game Store, GOG, Xbox X|S, and PS5. The game is also available to officially pre-order on all platforms or from the official site.
