It seems that the long-awaited Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 sequel cannot catch a break. Since its announcement, there has been a lot of excitement for the sequel to the beloved Tabletop RPG game. However, it seems they will be waiting a little while longer as Paradox interactive has stopped development on the game; As Bloodlines 2 loses dev team.
Making an official statement on the Twitter account for the game, they stated that the game is still in development. However, they then followed with “We have made the hard decision that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2.”
This is not the kind of news a fan of the series would want to hear after silence for so long. Alongside the announcement of them removing the dev team, they will also no longer be taking pre-orders as well as having no new release date to announce. This puts the already shaky development history for the game after the firing of Narrative Lead and Vampire expert, Brian Mitsoda.
Originally announced back in 2019 they made waves with this cult classic PC title getting new life. But with many recent developments, it is possible that the game that we get is not the one promised. With uncertainty of when to expect the game now, let alone which dev team will be hired, this leaves the fate of this cult classic up in the air.
