As you may recall, we discussed the movie adaptations of video games earlier this year. Regardless of whether they are successful or not, we continue to see updates and new announcements. For instance, Minecraft features a captivating trailer. We are at the beginning of the spooky season and have seen the launch of two major horror games. Not only that, but both are getting movie adaptations as well, which should come as no surprise. Return to Silent Hill covers the Silent Hill 2 story, and the Until Dawn movie is also on the cards. Given the nature of the game, it should translate faithfully to the screen.
What information can we share about the Until Dawn movie? David F. Sandberg, the writer and director of Annabelle: Creation, is behind the project, but we don’t know much about the cast. Peter Stormare, who plays Dr. Hill in the games, is back. According to the article confirming Stormare’s return, Maia Mitchell (The Fosters) and Belmont Cameli (Saved By The Bell) are joining the cast. However, one question remains: when will the film be released?
The Latest On The Until Dawn Movie
An article by Eurogamer adds a few more names to the cast list. The names of “Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Michael Cimino (Love Victor), Ji-young Yoo (Expats), and Odessa A’zion (Hellraiser)” have been added to the previous names. Furthermore, we can confirm that the film has concluded its filming, as evidenced by David F. Sandberg’s Instagram account.
We are hopeful that the announcement of a release date is imminent. Unfortunately, I doubt we’ll see the film hit screens before this Halloween, which is only a few weeks away, but we can hope. In the meantime, we have the recent remake for PlayStation 5 and PC to keep us busy, as well as the PlayStation 4 version if you own that.
