Unreal Engine 5 – What’s Coming In Epic’s Engine

Unreal Engine 5

Unreal Engine 5 is the latest game engine released by Epic. Since its launch, we’ve seen some amazing creations using that engine.  One such example is a trailer called The Island which is found below.

So if you want an example of visuals close to real life then this is a good example. Consequently, it was only time before game developers started utilizing this engine, with CD Projekt Red being one of the first examples.

In addition to a brand new entry in their beloved Witcher series. They are also remaking their original title in the franchise. I recently revisited the original game as well to refresh my memory.

Upcoming Titles

Fntastic had previously switched development to Unreal Engine 5 delaying their survival game. As well as, due to an ongoing trademark dispute we don’t when the game will be coming or what it will be called now.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

This was confirmed by Microsoft to run in the engine. And Ninja Theory and many of team Green are experts with the engine. The early showings from the gameplay trailer reveal it’s a fantastic-looking title.

One of the most visually striking-looking games this first-person horror game looks absolutely grotesque as well. It’s also a title we’ve covered in the past, so if this game interests you then read more about it. They have another trailer featuring a voice you may recognize as fans of the RE franchise. As It’s the same actor who played Leon in the remake of Resident Evil 2.

Silent Hill 2 / Layers of Fear

Bloober Team have two games currently in development using this engine. One is a remake of the iconic horror title from Konami famous horror IP, Silent Hill 2. As of now, we have no release date for Silent Hill 2. However, their second title, Layers of Fears, is due this Summer, acting as a mega compilation of their lays of fear series.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor

The follow-up to Respawns amazing Star Wars title sees the return of Cal Kestis. While originally set to launch in march, it will now launch this April after a short delay.

STALKER 2 Heart Of Chernobyl

This long-awaited sequel to GSC World’s Stalker series was supposed to have launched back in 2022. However, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, much of the development had halted as the team had to relocate for safety.
