It was announced at the beginning of the year that Xbox would be receiving Ubisoft’s subscription service Ubisoft+. At the time there appeared to be no PlayStation availability. Additionally, at the same time, rumors floated around that the service would be coming to Game Pass. As of now, no announcement has been made to confirm or deny the rumors.
Today, Ubisoft released information about the service’s official shift to the console. However, it appears to be PlayStation-related rather than Xbox-related news. This is the first mention of Sony’s platform having access to the service. So, with release dates for Ubisoft+ on PlayStation 5 consoles announced, we can only hope that news for Xbox is on the way.
Ubisoft+ On PlayStation
Brittany Spurlin posted on the Ubisoft website announcing that Sony’s console would be getting PlayStation Plus.
Ubisoft+ will come to PlayStation in the future, bringing access to more than 100 titles, additional content packs, and rewards to the platform. The subscription service is currently available on PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna, offering players day-one releases, classic games, and premium editions, and ultimately will be available on PlayStation and Xbox.
Ubisoft also revealed that beginning May 24, it will launch a new Ubisoft+ subscription for PlayStation Plus called Ubisoft+ Classics. Ubisoft+ Classics on PlayStation is a curated selection of popular games, including top-selling Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, The Division, and For Honor, as well as beloved classic games like Child of Light, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Watch Dogs, Werewolves Within, and more. The Ubisoft+ Classics catalogue for PlayStation Plus will launch with 27 titles and will grow to 50 by the end of 2022.

Also in the announcement, we find it’s part of the top two tiers of Sony’s revamped PS Plus.
Ubisoft+ Classics will launch bundled with the PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium subscription tiers on May 24 in Asia (June 2 in Japan), June 13 in North and South America, and June 23 in Europe.
At the same time, Sony revealed the lineup for the revamped service, which includes Ubisoft titles. Is this new information enticing you to upgrade to the more expensive PS Plus tiers? Also, when will this service be available on Xbox? Further, will it be included with Game Pass or a separate purchase? So, where do PC users who have the multi-platform subscription stand? Hopefully, we’ll see news from Xbox soon.
