Simulation games do get a mixed reception. They are either really loved and played a lot or they are really hated. I fall into the first camp. So for example I love games like House Flipper and Hotel Renovator to name a few. Another series of simulators we are seeing is that of public transport simulators. We are still awaiting Taxi Life and Bus Simulator 21 is getting upgraded. The team behind Taxi Life also has Train Life. The team behind Train Sim World has another one on the cards called TramSim Console Edition. So now we have trams joining the simulator fleet of buses, trains, and taxis.
TramSim Console Edition isn’t technically a new game. It launched on PC in 2020 and can be found on Steam now. So now we have the console release which was announced by the developer ViewApp. This was part of a partnership with Dovetail Games. Push Square published an article that contains the press release. It claims that “Tram and transport enthusiasts will be able to take to the streets with both modern and retro vehicles. The contemporary Flexity joins the Type E2 in Vienna, which first graced the city’s streets in 1978. In Munich, players will enter the cab of the unique R2.2b tram. A Deluxe Edition will also be available, containing additional content at Vienna Favoriten depot and the ULF tram model.”
TramSim Console Edition The Release Information
The article by Push Square confirms a release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. However, a Google Search doesn’t confirm or deny it’s a PlayStation console exclusive as no Xbox release information is present at the time of writing. As for when the console release is happening it’s coming to PlayStation on the 25th of April with pre-orders going live on April 4th. Hopefully, if an Xbox release is coming we hear news soon.
