Top 5 Budget Switch Games This Week. (07.21.21)

As a collector of physical Switch cartridges, my principles forbid me to buy a digital download for more than $10, so every week I find five great budget Switch games in the Nintendo eShop discounted to $10 or less. (in no particular order.)

This week’s top five:

NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 $29.99 $7.49
If you have fond memories of arcade basketball like NBA Jam, you’ll love 2K Playground. Build dream teams of current and former basketball stars and have some fun! It’s especially fun in 4-player 2v2 modes. If you’re looking for something a little more realistic, NBA2K21 is still on sale for only $4.79

Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cut $14.99 $3.74
The 80’s nostalgia is strong with this game as you play as the psychotic serial killer ‘Skullface’ taking revenge on teens at a classic campground. Each level is a sliding-box style puzzle where you move your character around killing the boxy minecraft-like campers. Execute hilarious over-the-top gory deaths while avoiding the police and traps. While there is an option to turn down the violence, you probably won’t use it since the characters are all low-pixel cubes the violence is more funny than gory.

Night Trap $14.99 $5.99
Probably the first FMV game I ever played was originally developed by Digital Pictures in 1987 and released in 1992, Night Trap has been completely rebuilt, bringing it to a level of video quality never before seen. Night Trap tells the story of five teenage girls spending the weekend at the Martin home. As a member of the Special Control Attack Team, your job is to monitor the home and protect the girls using an intricate system of cameras and traps as it is being invaded by vampires.

39 Days to Mars $14.99 $10.04
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if 19th-century inventors built a steam-powered rocket ship and blasted off for Mars? Well, that’s exactly what this game is about! This game is best enjoyed in local co-op as you and a partner complete various puzzles to keep the ship running! While playing single-player, the 2nd player is replaced by a helpful cat to keep you company on your long journey to Mars.

10 Second Ninja X $11.99 $7.99 (pre-order)
The blistering-fast action platformer will finally come to switch later this month. The objective is simple, destroy every robot on the level. But of course, there’s a catch; you only have 10 seconds. Can you beat all 100 levels to finally face the pirate Greatbeard?

Honorable Mention:

Streets of Rage 4 $24.99 $14.99
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; Streets Of Rage 4 might just be the perfect beat-em-up. Dotemu and LizardCube really knocked it out of the park with this long-awaited sequel to the Sega classic. The Mr. X Nightmare DLC adds three playable characters as well as new survival modes and custom character options was released for other platforms last week but has been delayed for Switch and is due to be released any day now via an in-game menu.

For more great deals, check out last week’s list as many of those games might still be on sale! I’ll be back next week with another list of five great budget Switch games in the Nintendo eShop discounted to $10 or less!
