As a collector of physical Switch cartridges, my principles forbid me to buy a digital download for more than $10. So every week I find five great budget Switch games in the Nintendo eShop discounted to $10 or less. (in no particular order.)

This week’s top five:

Jenny LeClue $24.99 $2.99
Jenny LeClue
This is a family-friendly detective story that uses colorful papercraft art-style to tell an intriguing Nancy Drew-style detective story. One of the most surprising things about Jenny LeClue is how your choices in the game can shape the story, and how characters treat you later on. The Switch version of this game has fully-voiced audio, and the delivery is on-point.

Creepy Tale $15.99 $6.39
Creepy Tale
Don’t let the simple artwork fool you, this is one of the creepier games on Switch. It’s a 2D puzzle game about two brothers in a forest that have been twisted and filled with dark and evil creatures. The most surreal part of the game has got to be the sound and music. If you want to get immersed in the game, I definitely recommend wearing headphones.

Down In Bermuda $19.99 $7.99
Down In Bermuda
The bright playful art-style and light-hearted music make this puzzle game one of the best I’ve played. Puzzles are creative but still intuitive; and challenging. They’re not too difficult. It’s definitely more cheerful than you’d expect from a game about crashing in the Bermuda triangle.

The Dungeon Crawl Vol. 1 $52.49 $7.86
Dungeon Crawl Vol 1
This is a collection of four RPG/Roguelite games: Fall of Light, Reverse Crawl, Skelly Selest, and Unexplored. They all have similar gameplay styles, but each game is unique enough to keep things interesting. Definitely a good value for less than $2 per game.

Forgotten Anne $19.99 $7.99
Forgotten Anne
Forgotten Anne is a steampunk story that feels like something straight out of Studio Ghibli. With a touching story, smooth animation, amazing voice acting, and a cinematic score performed by the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra. There’s some light puzzle-platforming, but the real reason to play this game is to experience the story for yourself. This game is a must-pick if you’re a fan of Hayao Miyazaki films and steampunk adventures.

Honorable Mention:

Resident Evil Games $7.99 – $14.99
