Hear ye, hear ye all real Borderlands fans. With Borderlands 4 on the horizon, over at the Epic Games Store, you can treat yourself to the most recent release in the series. That being Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a medieval fantasy take on their looter shooter formula. Derived from the same “Bunkers and Badasses” setting from Assault on Dragon’s Keep in Borderlands 2, this game centers itself as a more lighthearted and robust experience with a cool magic, armor and dual class system for players to sink their teeth into. Right now, until Thursday, you can pick up the game on the Epic Games Store for free and keep it for the foreseeable future.
What you need to know about Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands did have a middling reception from players and critics alike. While it is still that “same great Borderlands taste” but with the freedom of a spin-off attached to it. The game still had lackluster storytelling, writing, and characters that felt less than favorable when compared to even Borderlands 3. But that did not stop the game from having incredible new approaches to some aspects of the Borderlands gameplay.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands features a Spell system instead of grenades. The spells take the craziest forms of legendary grenades and crank their viability in all levels of the game to 11. There is also a dual class specialization system that allows you to combine two different classes you can choose from for crazy combinations, like mixing a Spellshot with the Brr-Zerker class for a magic and melee-focused build. Instead of long stretches of environments to trek through, the games opt to having a world map with instanced areas and random encounters.
