Otherside Entertainment used the Triple-I Initiative Showcase to unveil the release date for their upcoming stealth adventure, Thick As Thieves. Coming to PC (Steam) on May 20th, Thick As Thieves was originally shown at the Game Awards and framed as a PvPvE experience. However, the developers have shifted Thick As Thieves to focus on a solo or co-op experience.
Set in a 1910’s alternative history world, players are introduced to the fictional city of Kilcairn and the valuable treasures that lie within the city limits. Thick As Thieves offers a multi-hour experience that includes two thieves, two maps, 16 contracts, and six unique pieces of gear. Thick As Thieves focuses on stealth gameplay where every heist is a different contract. Players will explore the history of Kilcairn and its most influential families while stealing their fortunes to become master thieves.
This stealth-focused game is being developed by Otherside Entertainment, with the legendary Warren Spector, known for Thief 3 and Deus Ex, at the helm, alongside Paul Neurath, who’s known for Thief 1 and Thief 2. Thick as Thieves is being directed by Jeff Hickman, who worked on games like Star Wars: The Old Republic, Warhammer Online, and Dark Age of Camelot. Jeff says, “Unveiling Thick as Thieves to the world feels like finally springing a long-planned heist. Every mechanic and choice has been made with intent—there is nothing accidental, nothing wasted. Players aren’t just stepping into a game; they’re joining our crew, cracking the lock, and pulling off the score we’ve been quietly building for years. Watching the world slip into this world of thieves and schemes is thrilling, and I can’t wait to see the clever chaos they create.”
Players will need to improvise to find a variety of solutions to outsmart their enemies and steal their valuables. Thieves can go it alone or bring a partner in crime to take on contracts, upgrade their gear, and become master thieves. Thick As Thieves launches on PC May 20th.
