Where Gaming Begins

There’s a New Roguelike in Town, and Erosion is Bringing That Good Ol’ Western Feel With it

On Thursday, Microsoft Gaming hosted a partner showcase that revealed many new games and new gameplay for previously shown games. For every Total Chaos (which I have already dove into and am enjoying) and Vampire Crawlers, there was a new spectacular showing for something like Tides of Annihilation. But something that stood out was Erosion by Plot Twist, a new Western voxel roguelike.

Erosion stood out with its presentation and soundtrack, striking a chord that matches the western vibe the gameplay and setting are going for. But when can you expect to play it?

When can you expect to play Erosion

Erosion is going to feature a massive wasteland overworld with bounties to hunt, duels to be fought, poker tables to flip, and world-altering quests to undertake. Your journey also dictates how the world progresses. Such as dying in a dungeon makes you wake up ten years later. That store owner you helped? They’ve built an empire. Your choices permeate across decades, transforming factions, townsfolk, and entire regions. All of this can be experienced in 2026.

Sadly, there is no specific season they are aiming for right now. But 2026 is already getting stacked with plenty of awesome indies to look forward to. Just like Mouse: PI For Hire in March, for instance. But you can expect to play it on Steam, the Xbox PC App, and, of course, it will be playable through Xbox Game Pass.
