Last weekend saw Battlefield 6 hit the multiplayer gaming scene like no entry in the series before, with last weekend’s Steam concurrent player count for Battlefield 6 beating Call of Duty’s highest count. There is no denying that players are looking for the next big Battlefield experience; that is something Call of Duty has not been able to match. Both excel at doing what they focus on best. However, while Call of Duty continues to release an entry every year, it has been a while for Battlefield players, as many have either left or abandoned Battlefield 2042 due to its poor launch and controversial changes to the series. Luckily, it seems DICE and the other EA teams helping them have heard this feedback and brought us back to the Battlefields we fell in love with years ago.
So what can you expect from the second open beta weekend that is open now this wee,k from Thursday to Sunday! Here is the full breakdown:

The biggest change to this weekend’s second open beta is the addition of a brand-new map, Empire State, which takes place in New York and offers a distinctly different experience compared to the others, making it the largest urban map so far. In the image below, you can see New York City under attack! This theme of war coming home will be a big part of the single-player campaign as well when the game launches on October 10th, 2025.

As seen in the image below, this weekend you can now do your own custom search for games, choose the mode, maps, and more to get into the match you want right away!
