It’s pretty hard to escape one Naughty Dog franchises at this moment in time. We got a remake for the original Last of Us game in September, and 2023 is shaping up to be another big year for The Last of Us. The remake will also bring Joel and Ellie away from the PlayStation family when that launches on PC in March. You can pre order the game on either the Epic Store or Steam ahead of its March 3rd release. Pre order gives you bonus in game content which is

  • Bonus Supplements
Used to increase attributes such as max health, crafting speed, listen mode distance, healing speed, and improve weapon sway
  • Bonus Weapon Parts
Used to upgrade weapons and craft weapon holsters when you are at a work bench

The PC requirements are still a mystery, unfortunately, so we can’t help you find out if your setup will run this.

On top of this we have just seen the launch for the HBO show. In the US, it debuted on HBO Max and in the UK it was a late night airing starting at 2 am on Sky Atlantic to coincide with the US launch. The show stars Pedro Pascal as Joel, who is most famous for being voiced by Troy Baker. Ashley Johnson hands over the role of Ellie to Bella Ramsay. With so many people gamers and non-gamers alike watching the pilot episode, it is to be expected that The Last of Us Part 1 might gather some interest. If you were sceptical about buying the remake, which we reviewed here, then we have good news.

For Those Eager To Try Out The Last Of Us Part 1

For those who subscribe to PlayStation Plus there is a 2 hour trial for the game. Plenty of time to decide if the remake is worth it. The only catch is PlayStation Plus is now a tiered system. If you were subscribed already and changed nothing, you have PlayStation Plus Essentials. You could upgrade to the middle tier, which is PlayStation Plus Extra. The most expensive of the tiers is PlayStation Plus Premium. One of the extra benefits is game trials which gives you plenty of time to try out The Last of Us Part 1. You have two options for experiencing the remake: buy it or upgrade to a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription if you haven’t already. Are you going to be picking this up on PC? Did you watch the opening episode of the TV show? If you did, we’d love to hear if you loved it.
