Many rumors have circulated about a remake for one of the biggest franchises in the PlayStation family. There were reports from Tom Henderson way back in January as he claimed it was nearly finished and could launch soon. That rumor in question is The Last of Us Remake.
However, this story gathers even more momentum. We’ve had an animator mention he’s working on something cooler than God of War Ragnarok. Also saw Neil Druckmann tease three projects. None of these we can say for certain what the project is. One is said to be a new IP, another the Factions multiplayer title. However, this third project is unknown. This is the most likely candidate to fit that remake rumor.
The New Information On A Potential Release For A The Last Of Us Remake
A remake is not grabbing the entire fan base either. This is mostly down to the fact the original game holds up really well even now. Even though next year marks its tenth anniversary it seems a remake is still coming. Also, it appears it could come this year. This story has gone on for some time. However, we are still awaiting a statement to confirm or deny it from either Naughty Dog or Sony
The story continues with a Naughty Dog QA tester claiming they have worked on an unnamed remake. The other main choice would be Uncharted. Only one of these franchises has been rumored to be getting remade. Their LinkedIn profile for Naughty Dog has interesting reading as they have plenty of experience in the franchise. The profile shows “QA testing and development support + Level Point of Contact for unannounced remake project”. Every so often we see more fuel to fire the rumor.
