The planned release of The Last of Us Part 1 has generated considerable criticism. That’s only after the preorders and announcement trailers went live. On the remake, the public was divided. Some people are overjoyed with the PlayStation 4 remaster of the PlayStation 3 version from the previous year. Some people are anxiously anticipating the remake. Some believe it should be cheaper if you already have the original. The right to request free upgrades is a current issue, as are upgrades. Technically speaking, though, this is not an improvement.
The Last of Us Part 1 was designed to give those coming to the game fresh the best experience possible. This could be fans drawn to the franchise due to the upcoming HBO series. For those interested in more depth analysis of the remaster versus the new trailer, then take a look at the thoughts of Digital Foundry. Even with this, fans are still divided.
Cash Grab. Is that a Fair Description for The Last of Us Part 1
One of the developers is very much against that thought. So lets for fairness hear what they have to say. Robert Morrison is the developer in question and he posted on Twitter on his own personal account. They also worked on the 2018 reboot of God of War, Resident Evil 7, and Injustice 2. This is what they had to say.
The Last of Us Part 1 will offer improved animations and improved enemy AI which is based on The Last of Us Part 2. It will also give an upgraded combat system and offer a 60 FPS performance. He further adds to the point on the price point
The price of the game is out of my control and worth is subjective to each individual. You can decide for yourself if you want it or not. All I’m saying is I am in awe of the work that an amazing group of people did on the project. A tremendous amount of passion was put into it.Robert Morrison on The Last of Us Part 1 price
Which is fair, he can’t control any pricing. Even social media has mixed views. Unfortunately, some were abusive to those supporting the release. Personally, I am looking forward to it and have paid for my preorder. However, if you don’t want it please respect those who are waiting for the game. As for cash grab, maybe that’s fairer to decide upon release. We may not have needed a remake, but let’s judge it when it’s released. That will be the fairest way to decide if it’s ultimately a cash grab or not.
