The Last of Us May Be Getting A Remake For PlayStation 5

This could be a pretty busy year for Sony. So far we know of the upcoming releases of Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. We also saw the rumor of a September release for the next God of War. Another rumor that did appear towards the end of last year was around one of the biggest franchises Sony has, The Last of Us. This game has been a huge seller for PlayStation. This includes the original PlayStation 3 release and the subsequent remaster for PlayStation 4 and the recent sequel.

The Last of Us was rumored to getting a full remake previously. Now it seems that this remake is potentially not only a reality but also nearly finished. However, we have yet to hear anything from Sony or any announcement from Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog. We do know he’s been busy working to help complete the TV series for The Last of Us. So for this involvement has recently finished so the show could be close.

What we could expect to see

According to Tom Henderson a freelance writer, it’s coming this year to PlayStation 5. He has leaked a few stories which turned out accurate so it could well be an accurate leak.

VGC has also covered this story saying the information posted by Tom Henderson matches their other source’s claims. Neil Druckmann said at the recent CES presentation he’s “dying to share” the games Naughty Dog has been working on. Henderson also added he believes the standalone multiplayer project The Last of Us Factions could launch this year as well. He didn’t stop there as he believes more is coming. He felt the PlayStation 5 will get a Director’s Cut released for the recent sequel. But this wouldn’t be unusual as we saw similar releases with Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding. However what is your take on this news. As always we’d love to hear from you.
