Back in October, we got the release date for a new open-world zombie survival MMO titled The Day Before. It was previously slated to launch for PC only but we recently got good news for console owners. That being the title’s confirmation for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 however, the release would come at a later date.
For those wanting to refresh their memory, the trailer back in that October announcement said that
The Day Before is an open-world MMO survival game set in a post-pandemic America. You wake up alone in a world that you don’t recognize, and will need to hunt for resources and answers as you explore. However, you’ll need to compete with other survivors for food and weapons, all while avoiding the flesh-hungry infected that roam the streets.
However, the development team at Fntastic has major news to share.
A Development Update For The Day Before
From what we’ve seen, the game is changing somewhat. However, don’t panic as the game isn’t changing style. Development is now being shifted to utilizing Unreal Engine 5. Also, an announcement made via IGN also reveals an unsurprisingly change in release date. We now see the game being pushed back to March. This is what they had to say.
Millions of people have added The Day Before to their wishlist, making The Day Before one of the most anticipated games in the world.
Feeling and understanding the great responsibility that we face, with enormous gratitude in our hearts, were pleased to announce that The Day Before is switching to the new Unreal Engine 5 technology! 8The transition to a more advanced and adapted open worlds engine, will make the gameplay of The Day Before even more fantastic.
In this regard, we inform you that the new release date of the game will be March 1st, 2023.
It doesn’t state if this is all platforms or if the PC version is coming first as originally planned. However, if like me you’ve been waiting for updates, maybe keep an eye on their social media accounts which are listed on their website.
