The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is slowly getting closer to its much-awaited launch. We’ve seen the latest trailer as part of the recent Nintendo Direct and we’ve also had rumors of a custom switch. In addition to those rumors, it was also more expensive than previous Nintendo games including its much-loved 2017 sibling, Breath of the Wild. As you may be aware Nintendo increased the price for the upcoming Zelda to $70 at least in the U.S. The statement to Game Informer stated they are choosing the price on a case-by-case basis. To reiterate, this is not going to be the standard for all future Nintendo releases.

Regardless, the eagerly anticipated sequel to Breath of the Wild is expected to sell very well. The original, when it launched alongside the Switch, proved to be a huge success. It sold incredibly well, making it by far the best-selling game in the series. There is a chance “Tears of the Kingdom” could outsell its predecessor as well.

The Rest Of The News For Tears Of The Kingdom

According to information reported by VGC, the sequel is the biggest first-party Switch title right now in terms of file size. Breath of the Wild required 14.4 GB of space. The sequel, however, has very easily surpassed that. It seems that according to VGC, the US eShop says the download required is 18.2 GB. This is also the file size reported on the Japanese store. The UK has a larger size at 18,637 MB. If you’re using a 2017 launch model of the Switch, you won’t be able to fit both of these on the internal memory. These take just over half the available space on the OLED model as well. So what do you think about all of this? As always, we’d love to hear from you. So why not get in touch and share your thoughts?
