Well, Nintendo is hitting the news with hardware and related items. We’ve not long had news of a Zelda Game and Watch and an OLED version of the Switch but now Tag Heuer has an item to add.
The Swiss company is known for its items being more on the luxury side. The company’s CEO Frédéric Arnault is an avid Gamer so this is how they come about this latest product. He’s a huge Mario fan and had talks with Nintendo over a joint project previously according to Wired.
What is it?
Coming soon is their limited edition Super Mario smartwatch. Only 2000 will be made for sale at selected Tag Heuer boutiques or their website.
How much is it?
It’s not cheap. It’s gonna cost you $2150 /£1800.
What does it look like?
The watch itself looks identical to their Connected Wear OS smartwatch range. This is given a touch more paint. It also has the famous Mario M on its crown and a red strap.
What else makes it unique?
The animated watch face features Mario. It changes as get to certain points of your step count. For example, at the start of your day, Mario says hello and waves his cap.
When you reach 25 percent of your target, Mario eats a Super Mushroom which powers him up. Hit halfway he produces a green warp pipe
When you reach 75 percent, Mario uses a Star to make him briefly invincible. When you reach your target, Mario climbs to the top of a flagpole.
Will I have to buy this watch for Mario features?
As it stands yes, though Tag Heuer has said it may bring Mario to more of its Watch OS devices. So for now this pricy watch is the only way you get this feature.
