October is here and it’s the spooky time of the year. For gamers, this means it’s time to dig up some old horror titles or, better yet, check into some new ones. Though we did precisely that not long ago when we discovered we had some terrific horror games on the way. This list might undoubtedly become even longer on PC. Now, one of these games is one that I tried out the demo for and have been watching for a while. The video is embedded below. I enjoy a good horror game, and one with a Silent Hill vibe is definitely appealing to me. That is just what Stray Souls did.
This may or may not be a game you’re familiar with, but don’t worry. Thanks to the Steam listing, here’s a quick reminder. We are told that we are about to embark on a voyage into a nightmarish realm. Stray Souls is a third-person action horror game inspired by Resident Evil and Silent Hill. When we play we will have to “fight terrifying creatures, solve mind-bending puzzles, and unravel a horrid family secret to expose the chilling truth behind your existence”. The game is also coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
An Update On Stray Souls
Well, we have seen a new trailer appear amid an announcement on social media which can be seen below.
As far as we can tell, the game will no longer be released on Halloween. Fear not, horror aficionados; the new release date is a welcome change. So we have a new date, and the game will be released on October 25th. That is, it will be released just a few days before Alan Wake 2. We also have a price of $29.99/£24.99, and preorders aren’t yet completely operational. At the time of writing, the game was exclusively available for preorder on the Xbox store. I did inquire about PlayStation, for example, and they are working hard to get those preorders up and running as quickly as possible.
